Episcopalians are wild because they're a christian denomination that somehow seems to not have total contempt for the teachings of Christ

Today I began writing on the internet again, for the first time in a long time.

Last week I shared this extensive analysis of how recent changes to the Threads algorithm have essentially shadowbanned my content there—and how this is exactly what happened to my Facebook page in Aug 2018.
I compared 22 identical climate-related posts on Threads vs Bluesky over the last 3 months, and the difference is shocking.

Normalized engagement on Threads dropped nearly 2/3 + my following dropped, while Bluesky engagement held steady + following quadrupled.

What’s driving this?

Monday is coming: MLK Day and Inauguration Day. I wasn’t sure how I would feel. Yesterday I started working on something that made me feel better. More to come.

Every year the annual Parochial Report has been changing the demographic data it collects. e.g., for the last couple years it asked for a breakdown by number of members per generational category (a new requirement!) This year it asks for... average age?

This is useless for comparison.

@jacobsoboroff.bsky.social loved your comments on going back to your synagogue with the rabbis and cantor. I’m guessing they didn’t give you too much grief for being away - they probably were super grateful you are there now. Keep it up, God bless you.

It’s making me grumpy that people are calling the California fires “acts of God.” God didn’t create climate change. We did.

It’s a whole new experience to listen to #9LC with BlueSky while driving north to lead Christmas Eve worship. Goodbye to the era which was listening to it with Twitter while making mince pie at home.

I haven’t been so informed about a football game since the days I was on Twitter. I confess I didn’t even know there was a football game happening rn until I opened this app.

Pie crust update: pumpkin pie has baked and is cooled. Pecan pie is almost done. Verdict will be rendered in approximately 2 hours.

Pie crust update: I have two rolled pie crusts in tins in my refrigerator. Dough was crumbly but held together when patched. Probably rolled it too much. Now to finish up fillings and bake.

Pie crust update: there are two disks of what I hope is dough chilling in the refrigerator. Followed the King Arthur recipe. Did you know that pie dough calls for 1/4 to 1/2 c of water? That is a 100% difference within the same recipe and you figure it out by feel! Lord, have mercy.

Brb applying this to my capacity to make pie crust from scratch thank you BlueSky
thank you also for those disappointments and failures

Today I have to make pie crust from scratch. I have not made pie crust from scratch yet IN THIS ENTIRE CENTURY. You might think that someone who daily does things that scare her would be ok with this reality. You would be wrong.
