SLAUGHTER DISGUISED AS AID IN GAZA

Over 130 leading international aid organisations have made repeated calls for the grotesque Israeli military-controlled aid scheme (the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation – an Israeli and US scheme) be replaced by existing UN-led humanitarian agencies.

BUDGET 2025 is bad news for the health sector. Overall health funding is only being increased by 4.8% which is effectively a cut. Te Whatu Ora gets just a 4.4% increase which does not even cover their current deficit.

POLICE STOP REFERRALS TO DESTINY CHURCH GROUP

The Police advised that they are no longer making referrals to the Destiny Church linked Man Up and Legacy Sisterhood groups, in response to an Official Information Act (OIA) request by the Society.

A survey by the Nurses Society shows current funding cuts and controls are having adverse consequences on health services nationwide. A substantial majority of respondents (77%) reported serious adverse impacts on the health sector.

Getting rid of Lester Levy the Te Whatu Ora Commissioner is very welcome. His appointment in the first place was a serious mistake. His tenure will be remembered for a disastrous focus on cuts and a ‘hiring freeze’.

The Nurses Society has joined calls to have Destiny Church's tax-free status revoked by the Charities Services. Promoters of hate should not have charity status.
