the surgical dept at my hospital is hot garbage. they’ll refuse to do a procedure for source control because the patient “isn’t stable enough” and “needs medical optimization”
then you get the patient stable-ish with abx (no source control), and they say “patient is stable, no intervention needed”

Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.

a patient’s seemingly impaired son yelled at me on the phone for using the phrase “mental status” because he didn’t know what it meant. it caught me so off guard, i didn’t even know how to go about explaining that in a more layman’s fashion…i thought i already was doing that but apparently not 🫣

i’m going to try to start posting more. i’ve been struggling with this job- not the role of being an NP. it’s the lack of organization and consistency at this monstrous hospital, i would have expected so much better

the “i don’t follow politics” thing isn’t cute. people’s lives are getting destroyed, all sense of security getting ripped out from under their feet as a direct result of government policies and legislation. turning a blind eye to that is irresponsible and inhumane. wake UP

i called a code stroke on my patient. stroke APN was a condescending asshole the entire time, blaming sepsis/low BP/etc. and guess what the CT showed?
