Emergency Room personnel should never be in a position of turning anyone away who needs emergency medical care, regardless of immigration status, full stop. Anyone who has a problem with a few pennies or a few bucks of their tax dollars paying for it are insane freaks, Jesus Fuck.

Honestly it will be very funny when this kind shit backfires and causes someone who is absolutely guilty of a violent crime to walk. Like it seems like it could happen with Tyler Robinson if it turns out that unbelievably convenient text exchange with his roomate turns out to be fabricated.

Taking acetaminophen with opiates is great, but I just tell my hospice patients to take OTC acetaminophen along with their morphine or hydromorphone, no need for them to be in the same pill. With the opiate separate, they can repeat doses more frequently if they need to without risking liver damage

There actually is meaningful action the FDA could take on acetaminophen, which is to ban certain combo drugs that contain it since they contribute to people killing their livers by taking way too much without realizing it. Instead we get this nonsense.

I remember someone getting mad at me a couple of years ago for saying that America should start issuing age limits for its politicians.

Kind of absurd to even give credence to the idea that conservatives ever cared about freedom of speech. Any time they’ve ever pretended to be about it, it’s been obvious code for them specifically wanting to be able to say terrible shit with zero social consequences.

Maybe it was a mistake, way back when, collectively treating the Oklahoma City Bombing as an act of lone wolf terrorism and not the natural result of increasingly polarizing rhetoric from mainstream conservative voices and a collective effort by organized rightwing extremists.

Clinton, Obama and Biden all had the chance and an absolutely legitimate justification to throw the FBI hard against actual right wing terrorist groups and rhetorically go after conservative talking heads that wouldn’t completely and unequivocally disavow them and they blew it, now here we are.

It’s crazy how deep this is ingrained in the American psyche. I was in middle school, before Columbine and even Thurston, when a friend “joked” that he was going to come to school and shoot a bunch of teachers. I laughed it off b/c at the time it was inconceivable that he’d do it.

This has been the GOPs MO since before I could vote. Like in the 90s they’d use incendiary rhetoric, there’d be abortion clinic bombings, there was the Oklahoma City bombing, the bombing at the Atlanta Olympics, and then “why do you liberals hate America?”
