I thought that since everything that happened in Beleriand is considered far-away, ancient history by the time of LOTR, iron age clothing would be fitting at least for the humans. The elves had been around for much longer though, so their clothes are more medieval in my drawings.

Her outfit was heavily inspired Finnish iron age and Hallstatt culture clothing. Her heraldic device that Tolkien drew was also an inspiration, especially for the jewellery and colour scheme.

I took some inspiration from millefleurs tapestries and Tolkien's tiny drawing of Beleg in the landscape of Taur na Fuin.

I took some inspiration from millefleurs tapestries and Tolkien's tiny drawing of Beleg in the landscape of Taur na Fuin.
If the lines look a bit stiff when compared to my other digital paintings, it's just because I painted this one entirely using a mouse. It was more fun than I thought it would be, but it did take some more patience and conscious precision when compared to drawing with a tablet and pen.
