This is the ballgame.

There are more of us (patriots, any party) than them (regime dead-enders and Hessians). A lot more.

We are everywhere on the front foot. We are emboldened by the great mass of happy people at our shoulders behind us.

You could no more hold us back than the flood tide.

I don’t have dates in front of me but PAs will be in safe operations only by end of the month. I expect PX to be first.

Labs can live into November .. but none survive November.

I think the third week is when the last lab will shutter.
Thanks for the visibility. Everything I've heard so far across the complex has been like "well, we're going to keep working until management tells us not to", Feds excepted unfortunately. I know what my stop date is and what I've been hearing from others is that it's a few weeks out most places.

White House is accelerating RIFS that were already planned. Not a huge surprise - why pay furloughed employees that you intend to RIF later?

Shutdown doesn’t mean they are expanding the scope of RIFS but you wouldn’t know that based on a lot of reporting.

Roughly every week a different branch of the NSE will shutter.

Excepted work will continue to protect life, property, and budget.
There’s been a push to decrease middle management at some sites to reduce overhead. That predated the shutdown.

Absent a dramatic reprogramming effort, we furlough Feds on Monday and the M&Os will shutter when money runs out.

NNSA has been operational thru the shutdown with carry, but the money is going to run out tomorrow.
October 16, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Small upside to the shutdown ..my commute in today was a total breeze.

While DOE is making the news for RIFS, NNSA continues to be excluded.

I suspect that while this is being timed to the shutdown, these plans have long been ironed out and signed off on.

When the money runs out I’m running into PX and screaming like Gordon Ramsey “Shut it down!”
October 3, 2025 at 4:56 PM
Shutdown completed blindsided us whereas my buddy in DOJ knew this was coming for weeks.

Turns out having political leadership installed matters. Which is what makes these lengthy confirmations rather annoying.

This whole thread is what pisses me off about my too-online friends.

A democracy if you can keep it.
Okay. Let me try this another way, and see if that works.

I was a boy with relatives in Greece during the time of the Colonels, a pretty scary military junta. Some would say it was fascist: Militarism, anti-communism, nostalgia, etc.

But no.

Is America now as repressive as a junta that only lasted 7 years? No.
Is America as repressive now as the USSR was in 1987, when it "liberalized?" No.
People use "fascist" b/c they have no frame of reference for repression. /3

The fragile doomerism of my generation is a little pathetic.

I’m gonna need yall to exhibit some spinal fortitude.
Every time one of you says "well, that's it, this is fascism," you're giving up.

If we were already living in a fascist regime, most of you - and certainly not anyone in the public space, like me - would not be here arguing about it.

You're Americans. Stop fantasizing that you're the White Rose.

Also radical views. 🤷‍♂️
I haven't had time to read up on the latest shooting, but I'm going to post my incredibly radical position that a shooting is bad no matter who did it and no matter who was shot.

Stop trying to crack the code of a shooter's motives and focus on the one thing they all have in common -- the guns.

My greatest contribution to the enterprise.. DOE not DoE. I can retire now.
September 25, 2025 at 12:35 PM
Gonna need the natsec crew to do a little better on their foreign nationals self-reporting. Some of yall are reporting things unnecessarily and then telling people about it as a heads up and it’s like.. not necessary when the climate is already bleak for immigrants.

Chill the fuck out.

That beautiful time in DC where you can sweat outside but freeze inside.
September 16, 2025 at 3:45 PM
It’s 80 outside but I need a space heater for my office.

The irony of working for DOE.

Honestly hard to imagine what is happening in HHS where this is the response. The civil service wants to be uninvolved with politics.
i cannot overstate how extraordinary it is for federal civil servants to do this
Host: There are new calls this morning for RFK Jr.'s resignation, and those calls coming from inside HHS itself. More than 1,000 current and former HHS workers are making this demand in a letter released this morning. They say his leadership has "put the health of all Americans at risk"

I'd like to talk about the Government Accountability Office, a little known but important federal government agency. Headed by the US Comptroller General, it was established in the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921 as a congressional watchdog to investigate public spending.

Nah fam. The American government is privatizing its space program with extremely limited oversight.

Thats bad in a different way.

Shirts vs skins but make it morally bankrupt.
Texas isn't the only red state. They're a parasitic collective.

Those kids' parents killed then, not me.

They voted for budget cuts. They got em.

I voted for the lady and the coach. Not my problem.
