The occasionally rational thoughts of a semi-deluded Newcastle United fan.
Now let’s remind everyone why we’re the best fans in the country by moving on and not wishing that Alex Isak gets boiled in oil and the fat sold for soap (or whatever other mayhem and misfortune some whoppers are out there begging for). #NUFC

Tbf he’s Germany’s top up and coming striker at national level and was viewed as a succession plan for Kane at Bayern. Don’t get to be in that position without being at least a little bit special.

Tbf outside of the vocal minority who seem to only watch the sport to try and point score online, Liverpool fans are sound.

Realistically we’ve had the sporting equivalent of a kids lemonade stand for our transfer team this window so to have strengthened the squad overall isn’t too bad going.

Different profile as well - would rather overpay for Wissa than JSL given the play styles involved. Wissa and Woltemade gives us a little bit of versatility up top in a similar way to Wilson offering a physicality that Isak couldn’t.

Brentford owners are very smooth operators - he was always going to get sold but they were going to squeeze every penny out of the deal. Fair play to them, it’s why Brentford are developing as well as they are

Don’t know if I’d take it that far, personally I’d much prefer he do what the last big striker we sold to Liverpool did - absolutely nothing for several years before going to West Ham ❤️

I felt that post was relatively lighthearted all things considered but it is what it is. Nice bloke is usually followed by “reactionary dimwit” in my long list of personal descriptors.

Oh I absolutely agree reintegration was on the table. I’ve maintained for weeks that if we didn’t sell him he’d be playing again ASAP. This is more directed towards the “let him rot” side of the fan base who seem to have taken it rather personally

I mean my experience is one of what I’ve read on here, on Reddit, and on the Meta based platforms (wouldn’t touch the dark side with a ten foot pole). I’ve seen as much headless on here this morning as I have elsewhere - we’re one step away from some fans calling for a public flogging

… they were going to sell him and sent him to train with the reserves. Even the Suarez scenario was a joke because of the £40m+£1 bit. I’m as unhappy about how the Isak deal has transpired as anyone. But a lot of our fans seem to want Isak publicly tarred and feathered to “send a message”.

Our situation, as with all of those, is different. Realistically I think what Forest has done with MGW is going to come back to bite them, and the atmosphere over there looks toxic. Rooney didn’t go to City because SAF strong armed him into staying. Costa fell out with Chelsea because they decided…

That’s it, end of the day we’re at a point where Isak leaving is annoying on the principle of how it has gone down rather than because it cripples us. Equally with how much of a pigs ear the club has made of large parts of this window I suspect a lot of lessons will have been learned!

Imagine my surprise when we signed Facundo Ferreyra and he didn’t bang 50 goals in his debut season like he did for me on FM. I’ve never felt so personally insulted in my life.

Eh it sends a message, I’m just not convinced that’s the club we want to be. Yes we need to make it clear that we’re not a stepping stone, but you do that internally with culture and prestige. It can’t be helped if while we’re in the process of establishing that a player decides to snake us

I’m sure that Thauvin and Siem De Jong money went STRAIGHT to Game. I can’t prove it but nobody will convince me otherwise 😂

Even beyond PSR you’d genuinely think this is the first time people have experienced a good player leaving a team. Christ I feel blessed to have experienced the Carroll, Cabaye, Wijnaldum and Sissoko debacles to give some perspective on this.

My muted and blocked list has grown exponentially since this whole Isak saga kicked off 😂
