Im Deutschen gibt es ja keine saubere Übersetzung für "eldritch", am ehesten "gruselig" oder "unheimlich" aber das hat nicht das gleiche Gewicht.
Ich würde "entrisch" vorschlagen. Ein altertümliches Wort mit ähnlichem Klang und ähnlicher Bedeutung:

The American Barbecue Showdown is great.
It is your run-off-the-mill cooking competition, a different cooking challenge each episode, one contestant has to leave.
But the contestants are so fun, so wholesome. No backstabbing, just sportsmanship and friendly competition.

Many years ago I made this "SHOT TIME" watch to wear to parties. It was just a cheap 5€ watch that I broke open with a pocket knife and replaced the clockface with a piece of paper.
Horribly backfired because people were having TOO MUCH fun asking me for the time.

When I was playing through the remasters of the Icewind Dale games and Baldur's Gate Black Pits mode I used to draw a full roster of characters I was gonna use.
Delayed the start of the game by like 6 hours, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.
