Sorry for not posting about anything other than how cute my cats are, but also not even remotely sorry.

Every day my heart fills up from watching M’Lynn care for her adopted daughter.

Our antisocial, fiercely territorial black cat has adopted the kitten as her own. So that’s it, we’ve got a fourth cat, nothing to be done about it.

We’ve already crammed 3 cats into this 1000 sqft house, so sadly we must find a new home for this scrungly bat creature. I’m committed to sorting out her health and starting her shots, but if anyone out there has room for a kitten let me know. I’ll drive pretty far to ensure she finds a happy family

We found a kitten in our front yard last night. She doesn’t have the use of her rear left leg. Will call the vet tomorrow morning to get her looked at.

Honestly the most crookedy cat I’ve ever seen. Her spine bends in any direction but “straight.”

You know who else is late? Late Boneset, it’s right in her name. But inch per inch she’s had more activity than any other flower this year, and she’s flower enough for such heavyweights as the tiger swallowtail and eastern carpenter bee. No one does it like her, a solid first place champion.

Frost Aster arrived late to the party, but now that she’s here? Wow. She IS the party, and everyone’s invited. Bees, wasps, flies, and butterflies have all been gorging themselves nonstop, and there’s enough Ms Aster for everyone. An easy second place winner.

Number 3 is Honeyvine Milkweed. You can smell her from across the yard, and she smells like spicy cinnamon. You know what else is spicy? The swarm of wasps battling over her all hours of the day. But don’t worry, they won’t bother you… so long as you don’t get between them and that sweet nectar.

Number 4 would be Blue Mistflower. Not the busiest plant, but she’s been blooming since early summer and just won’t quit. The country buffet for butterflies: always good, always open.

Ranking plants in my yard by how looney bazonkers the pollinators went for them this year. The number 5 slot goes to Swamp Rose Mallow, who’s been fairly well trafficked, but gets bonus points because every morning I would find bumble bees napping in her flowers. Delightful!

What was that? I couldn’t hear you over the sound of this cool butterfly I saw for the first time today.

Because I’m a boring nerd, I took another video of bees getting a snack and a back rub on a passion flower. These bees ended up settling in for the night on these same flowers.

This vine just dropped its first maypops. You eat it like a pomegranate, but it’s less tart, more sweet, and real slimy.

Managed to get a vid of a bee visiting a passionflower. You can see how the flower’s pistils and stamens are flopped over, positioned so that they rub on the bee’s back as she moves around looking for nectar.

We also have a creamsicle and a void. You’ll never guess which one is chill and which one’s a freak.
