Might be a general problem with queer spaces. We’re a group of weirdos and rejects who don’t like traditional authorities telling us what to do — but sometimes, you really do need to be told “Don’t do that, it’s shitty” or “Think about this from the other person’s perspective.”

that is 'very 'true -- I should have added this: people tend to (intentionally or not) essentialize you down to the role you play with them, and that can be awkward when you play different roles for different people

4. This is totally unhinged, but: to me, other’s focus on position just feels annoying. With some, it seriously feels like you don’t like men (general), you like men (specifically the ones who put their dick in you). It sometimes feels less like a sexuality and more like a fetish.

2. It’s extremely inconvenient to a pure bottom if I have moods where I want to bottom, and vice versa with pure tops. Most people don’t like their partner to have desires they can’t sate.
People will also cope and call you a “bottom” when you don’t want to top them. It’s annoying.
