Writer of light-hearted naturecore fantasy and discombobulating gothic horror. Passionate about bumblebees and unhinged classic art.
As I read through a temp-abandoned draft of my Slavic witchy drama, I experienced an eureka moment & now know exactly how to wrap up the loose ends! Such a satisfying feeling when everything clicks into place.

Watched Troy (2004) for the first time yesterday and GODS, it was so good. How I miss the epic historical era of Hollywood. (King Arthur (also 2004), anyone? Excellence, as far as I am concerned. Also one of my formative films.)

Good news: Summer has made a comeback! (After about two weeks of rainy, overcast weather taken straight out of October.)

Whenever I feel down and directionless, I remember how many earthworms I have saved from death this year by offering them rainwater to sip and relocating them to a shaded spot where the earth is moist and diggable. I am the Earthworm Fairy Godmother.

The yearning to frolic in the fields in a sundress and to go mushroom-gathering in the depths of the forest... versus the deep, paralysing fear of ticks.

Muriel Fahrion, the creator of Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears DOES NOT GET ANY ROYALTIES for the popular lines. NOTHING, even though it has steadily been licensed out for more than 40 years.

Please consider buying something at her site outtathinairstudio.com

I would have much bigger output if I had one of those fancy writing sheds that can be rotated to follow the sunlight. Alas, my current writing spot options are either a deckchair in the garden (makes me sleepy) or my bed (under puppy occupation; very distracting.)

Asked by someone why some of my novels end with the protagonist just hitting the antagonist with a rock, the end. It's because I'm tired, the protagonist is tired, and in general long, choreographed fight scenes per Hollywood are not that realistic. No, usually, it's just a rock.

Yesterday the oregano patch was abuzz with bees and aflutter with butterflies. Nectar has been imbibed in. Flowers have been pollinated.
