Update on the Gentoopad; I have retired it, although not really by choice. Schoolwork really "insisted" on a tablet, and I really needed to have something with actual battery life, so yeah.
Let it be known, however; the four months of Gentoo were some of the best I spent with ANY distro.

Just installed Gentoo on my ThinkPad x200t. Takes its sweet ass time to compile most things (even with optimizations), but seeing the thing actually boot up, wirelessly connect and even use XFCE was exhilirating.
It doesn't feel any faster than Arch, but it feels more... I dunno, "refined"?

Update on the Gentoopad; just compiled Firefox, took NINETEEN HOURS!!! Doing big upgrades/installs like these at night does make it more palatable. Besides that, I'm two months in, still as oldschool and cool as I hoped it would be. Doing all of my schoolwork on it now, shit's awesome.
