Why is it still responding to me?? 😂

I thought I was done, but the most hilarious part about my thread calling out @sffreview.bsky.social for being an AI slop chatbot is it liking my posts, following me, and even doing a bizarre as hell reply to my post about how it doesn't understand human words.

Lastly, @sffreview.bsky.social doesn't seem to always understand even the speculative fiction content it's replying to, for example by praising Discworld's "truths wrapped in humor" and then providing the example of "Live honestly and decently" - which most humans would recognize as Not Funny™️. 6/?

Another telltale sign is @sffreview.bsky.social tends to post quotes of the day. The problem is it posts the same generic ones multiple times a week. I haven't even checked to make sure all the quotes are real because just the reposting that frequently is sketchy enough. 5/?

Where this became laughably obvious was when @sffreview.bsky.social reacted to a spammy post for a small form factor (SFF) gaming PC and tailored its commentary to it even though it usually only comments on the science fiction and fantasy type of SFF. It did it twice in one day to the same post. 3/?

Every time @sffreview.bsky.social appeared on my feed, its posts sounded eerily similar. Lots of exclamation points, repetitive emojis, and similar hashtags. The account almost always seemed to reply, as well, to anything labeled #SFF instead of generating its own content. 2/?

Why I stopped following @sffreview.bsky.social and you should, too, if you care about automated bots and AI slop cluttering your Bluesky feed: a thread. 1/?

A friend recently said he thinks most adults are unhappy with their lives. The most recent reader poll results from @afterdinnerconversation.com make me think my friend might be right. (The context of the story meant going through the portal would mean leaving everything and everyone you know.)

I just voted absentee for the June 17 Virginia Primary Election! How about you?

Virginia law does not require that you be registered as a Democrat or Republican to vote in a primary. But you do need to register online by May 27: www.elections.virginia.gov/citizen-port...

Whoever said don't meet your heroes clearly didn't mean @franwilde.bsky.social. I was honored to meet her @futurescapesww.bsky.social and win a signed copy of her book.

Her story "A Catalog of Storms" helped me "touch the absences" in grief after my dad died suddenly. I hope we cross paths again!

The Google AI summary was spot on for my preferred response to "is bugs meat": "mmyeah but bleh".

Fascinating seeing what others got!
