Cycles Per Second on @khuh.bsky.social 104.9 FM in Seattle ~ Wednesdays 6-7pm PT // Live music junkie, traveler, culinary noodler, record collector, cat cuddler, designer. http://www.nstop.com

(Re)-introducing myself to the new peeps: I’m a community radio DJ and designer who mostly posts about music and cats. Also into zines (both reading and making) and #indieweb tech stuff.
Fascinating history of the Indie Top 20 series. Essential (if incomplete) samplers of the 80s UK indie charts in the pre-Internet era, esp for those of us here in the US that couldn’t afford to buy a bunch of imports.
They do, yes - they were just rebadged. I actually did a whole blog about these years ago and Chet Selwood, who set up the series with his sister Bee, got in touch and gave me a bunch of information:

Just realized this great lost pop single came out 10 years ago last week. If Will Ivy is done making noise with Flat Worms, perhaps he can revert to the jangle? willivy44.bandcamp.com/track/if-i-w...

Unexpectedly found ourselves in Portland with nothing to do tonight, so why not see some Australian punk new and old? Wollongong duo chimers and The Saints ‘73-‘78 w/orig members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay, plus Mick Harvey and Mark Arm (vox) among others. A fantastic double bill.

Making the scene at Short Run Comix Festival. Tons of folks as usual, but much easier to move around in the spacious and airy new venue in Georgetown.

First installment of my blog about these special tapes in the FNR and Chris Knox collections at National Library of NZ. What is a multitrack? What is on these tapes? And how can you listen to and research them? Have a read. 👇👇

Nice story about my favorite Seattle venue, turning 25 this year. www.seattletimes.com/entertainmen...
At 25, this Ballard club is a Seattle music institution
Sunset Tavern has long stood at the forefront of local music. Now, it's kicking back and letting loose for its 25th trip around the sun.
