I should've posted the correct reading paths for any who are still (understandably) mystified by them. Here you go!

I’ll point out, the two jungle comics examples I shared, work just fine as blank compositions - it’s only the decisions of how to order them that make things completely unclear (we spent like five minutes in class trying to decipher the first one correctly…)

You can’t convince me that they think real humans talk like this…

I will say, students often have a surprisingly difficult time making an intentionally unclear layout. Try it - and share back!

2/2 here are a few of the sample "bad" layouts they made today. Now they will try to solve them using characters breaking panels, word balloons, SFX, captions, any elements they can to try & make a clear reading path. Give it a try w/one of these or post your own unclear layout for others to try!
