Threatening Canada and our PM does NOT look good on Don the Con. It will backfire very badly amongst Canadians who are already boycotting American goods and services as much as possible and those who were on the fence about the issue.

NOT a good day to have to go outside to do her business
January 24, 2026 at 1:35 PM
It is VERY cold here in Nova Scotia (6 F/ -14 C as I type). Our snow doesn't start until tomorrow night. My main concern is a power failure. It's too cold to be without heat for too long.Hope you manage to stay warm. #NSStorm

Light and fluffy is much better. Easier for the plows to deal with and less likely to bring power lines down. Prepared for the worst and hoping for the best.

Good morning, Gerry. That photo is something nice to look forward to. Hope you stay safe and warm through the cold and snow. We're prepared and hoping the power stays on.

Sad but true

They actually capped it 3 months ago. You would hope that, when the temperature gets as low as it's going to be this weekend that they'd set the minimum a bit higher but nope.
January 23, 2026 at 9:26 PM
Told the property manager that the ambient temperature is usually a degree lower than what the thermostat says. She said that's still higher than the provincial MINIMUM requirement. WAS using space heaters but that jacked my electric bill up something terrible
January 23, 2026 at 9:24 PM
The province says they're allowed to cap it at 21 but I agree that's not right. This landlord capped it at 23 and thinks they're doing us a favour. Problem is it's an older, drafty building with windows that radiate cold and the temperature generally isn't what the thermostat says
January 23, 2026 at 9:18 PM
Probably as many as last weekend. It's the cold that really concerns me though. Will have to use small space heaters to get things toasty in advance of a possible power failure since the landlord has the heat capped in this building.

The problem with signs in stores is they're not always accurate and don't differentiate between made in Canada and product of Canada which are VERY different. I use Maple Scan which is very detailed and accurate.

Amen to that! Double caffeine cuppa for me.

Good morning, Gerry. Been up for longer than I had planned. Kevin was up looking for breakfast VERY early but he's in a great mood so not all bad. Have a good one.
January 23, 2026 at 9:34 AM
You KNOW it's getting bad when you have to have a power outage checklist including a power source fully charged at all times. That doesn't help with the heat during the winter though and it got VERY chilly VERY quick yesterday.

Stripey Man is a smart kittie. Watching the news just makes me want to throw things at my TV.

You remind me of our Abigail (OTRB) , a tabby who was a couple of years old before she grew into her ears. She was 4 months old when this photo was taken.

What the .... ! Government should NOT be involved in any religion. It's a personal choice that folks are free to make but has nothing to do with the population at large.

Whatever the wildlife was, I susppect it was on my street. The NSPC service truck went down my street not too long after the power went out and I didn't see him leave.

Good morning, Gerry. What a lovely, colourful photo. Just folding my second load of laundry for the day. At least I started off with ambition. Let's see how long that lasts. 👍😄 Have a great day!

They should BUT the only problem with that is Vance would become President for the rest of the term.
