If someone knows they are being sent to die, then they would likely feel they have nothing to lose by fighting back against the government. This is why Putin is terrified to do a total mobilization of the population.

The average age in Russia is 40. That means roughly over half the population has lived through Communism and its fall. Recall in the early 1990s there was literally no food in some places, and even then there wasn’t a massive revolt. I think it would take total mobilization for people to revolt.

I understand and credit your points, but I don’t think those things alone will lead to the toppling of the current regime. I think the only thing that would cause this would be some sort of mass mobilization. If you are going to be sent to die anyway, what do you have to lose?
