Welp, it's Xmas Eve Eve, so my timing is impeccable as always.

Wouldn't it be great if you could share gift ideas with your friends and family on atproto instead of locking into Amazon or making an account on some rando site? Maybe by this time next year it'll be a thing.

Got my Hand-Drawn Game Guides: Mega Man yesterday. Some real dope art in this.

Put my Dr. Wily sticker on my Evercade Alpha MM Edition...even though the book seems to neglect to mention Evercade EXP and Super Pocket as places you can play Mega Man 1.

And it was all worth it cause when I got back that run was a success!

Roguecraft DX would be the perfect pick-up-and-play Evercade game for taking with you on a Super Pocket if you could suspend runs.

Even without that it's an excellent game that plays great on the go. Just sometimes I don't have an hour uninterrupted and feel back abandoning or sabotaging good runs.
It's my hand! It's holding a black NeoGeo Super Pocket! It's a small, roughly game boy shaped gaming handheld. On the screen is Roguecraft DX, an isometric roguelike dungeon crawler that just released on Evercade cart.

This has been playing in my head since last night so now you have to see it, too.

Damn this Gimmick album is great.
A record sleeve of "Gimmick!" an album of new arrangements of the soundtrack of, well, Gimmick!. The album art is, well, beautiful witha bunch of colorful character art in a lovely scene. It's sitting atop a record player where you can see one of the records is on the platter. The record is gimmick-colored green and has Gimmick in the middle. Also pictured is an Evercade EXP-R playing Gimmick! from Sunsoft Collection 1.

How it started / How it's going

Happy 5th Birthday, #Evercade!
An Evercade Handheld ("OG") - a white handheld console with red accents. Sitting atop a similarly styled stand. Galaga's title screen is currently showing on it. It is flanked by the 10 launch carts: Atari 1, Namco 1, Data East 1, Interplay 1, Atari 2, Mega Cat 1, Interplay 2, Namco 2, Piko 1, Technos 1. They are all sitting on a wooden desk in front of a window. The same scene, except all 67(?) carts are displayed. And an EXP Limited Edition, Atari Super Pocket, Taito Super Pocket, EXP-R, VS, and Mega Man Alpha are shown. The handhelds are all powered on showing various games. Oh and there's a little rubber Evercade cart keychain hanging from the Alpha. Oh oh and the Alpha's black battop has been replaced by a red balltop.

Been a while since I (semi-)Random Game Saturdayed. I'll be enjoying some NES time today.
It's a cartridge of Little Bemo Dream Master for the NES. The label shows a little boy with dark hair (Little Nemo) riding a cartoon bed past an angry tree through a field of mushrooms while pursued by some flying alligators. He seems oddly happy about it all.

We've had flurries up here in N Central MA for a few days now and it really started to pile up last night.
A picture out my front door. Snow is partially obscuring visibility. You can see the wooden railing of my front porch has a couple inches of snow piled up, the porch stairs go gown into my front yard out to my driveway and onto the trees in my front yard. Everything is snow.

First version of my new personal site up. Neat exercise avoiding SPAs (and JS in general) in favor of server-side rendered webapp. Blogroll generated via feedbin api and activity feed via atproto.

Nice to enjoy some relative minimalism for the first time in a while.

Starting to get my feet wet a bit with the indigo golang library for ATproto.

Feeling like things are a bit better documented for Typescript and maybe I should've started there, but I'm getting it all figured out. 👍
The new retro-style version of my personal site, now with a very basic rendering of my bsky feed on it. Styling is not complete yet, and embedded pics/vids/links don't work yet, but I'm getting there.
