* zone of apposition = the area of attachment between the diaphragm directly behind the inner aspect of the lower chest wall and rib cage. important for proper diaphragm and breathing function, and depends largely on the anatomical positioning of the muscle to the rib cage

Raising the arms stretches the thoracic wall & abdominal muscles & places them in a less effective way to aid in respiration

When the zoa is optimized the diaphragm works at max capacity

Hands on head posture causes thoracic extension & external rotation of the rib cage ❌

This places the diaphragm in a sub optimal position…
