Action is the antidote to despair, and we all deserve feeling something better than misery.
Yes. Keeping the skellies out year-round is the right kind of flex

Cats have the ability to alter the 3rd spatial dimension at will. That's why they're also somehow able to fit in tiny places they shouldn't be able to, yet can occupy a whole bed by themselves.

For real. Grief is a part of the human experience, and while it's very uncomfortable to do so, we have to sit with our feelings and process them to move on.

Wait until out-of-ideas marketers start peddling toasters with LLMs integrated into them and DO start talking...

Probably the best you can do is to minimize use of them; explicitly instruct the bots to reply in a mechanical manner without using 1st person pronouns; only refer to you as the user; and to provide a source for everything it claims.

The bots are safer if you break the illusion.

You can't. They were engineered from the ground up to be this way. You'd have to start again from scratch, meanwhile your competitors who don't will continue maximizing the time users stay on their chatbots, and serve them ads or sell their data. It's a doom-loop

LOL

I asked one about myself, and it claimed that I hosted a popular podcast about the various groups of pod-people that I lead. These pod-people are apparently known as The Pods.

We'd rather try to dim the Sun than to burn less oil and reduce consumption.

Sums up our economic paradigm pretty well.

No.

Placing warnings on things has nothing to do with it. Nor is "common sense" something objective.

It's always been about the wealthy and powerful never being satisfied until they have it all, and using people's intolerances and fears as a way to gain more control.

I friggin love KDE. I've used it for so long that it just feels like what a computer is supposed to be.

Cloud pieces are the *best* kind of falling snow!
I always feel like I'm in a fairytale when those fall

For example, l will likely forget that I even made this post after a couple days. If it disappeared forever in some outage, that would have zero effect on anything, present or future.

In all seriousness, must EVERYTHING be preserved indefinitely for posterity?

Probably 99% of anything digital I've ever made, intentional or crumbs, isn't worth saving. I have a hard time seeing how that isn't also the case for just about everyone else too.

It's kinda liberating to delete stuff.

Friend, I have good news! Just like the gingko, dinosaurs are still here.

Oh wow

What's it like to be in Antarctica, besides the cold? It must be an experience of a lifetime to get to visit and work with the seals

Meanwhile in the western half of WA it's been rain, rain and more rain. No Aurora for us 😢

It's the dragon sickness. Sitting on a hoard of wealth that big absolutely rots the brain from inside out.

Awkward AF is it's own vibe, and would still get views.

Maybe not as many views as jiggle physics will get you, but probably less creepos.

To be fair, most of us are kinda busy with our own situations melting down right now. No offense to Chicago, but the outrage fatigue is real and you don't have a lot of spoons available when you're out of food & can't make rent.
