This awful year the birds are one of the things that got me through. I feed them (properly) and my cats are kept indoors. I got the Merlin app, and was amazed at the variety of birds living in my wild garden. The dog ignores them, and I swear they are aware of me. Because me = food! Xx

Yes, you make a strong point. My eyes are a bit rubbish (incoming cataracts) and I don't always notice detail until it's pointed out to me.

I did worry about that. My daughter took the photo and I think/hope it was just a fluke photo. I am sure that my girl would have said if she thought the bird had been clipped: she's an ardent animal lover. Let's hope :-/ xx
