as an aside my young nieces love watching vhs. they think it’s old fashioned and fun. they have sat for movies because it was “a thing” I don’t think they would have if I just put on netflix

without that song the “love is found” reprise literally makes absolutely no sense. why would they go off on finding love when they never made a point of losing it? I’m glad I had the vhs copy all these years. It still plays great because it only got watched once a year.

I live by one. I see what it is doing and it’s not what you seem to think it is. with solar farms brings infrastructure. infrastructure brings more people. more people brings more destruction and encroachment on wild spaces. solar is necessary but not at the expense of our natural world.

shade and ambient temps that do not occur in these desert landscapes will destroy and are destroying a delicate environment. “putting shade out there will help” wrong. these animals need the sun and ambient temps that cool dramatically at night. panels prevent that.

you know nothing about the desert tortoise habitat. these panels increase the ambient heat of the area, often destroying the kryptoendmatic soil which the tortoise needs for mating rituals.
I never said we don’t need solar. put the panels on buildings, parking lots, etc not in the wild.

it is a problem. many desert species are losing habitat. these species thrive in the desert as it is. putting more development and infrastructure in the desert is not going to save anyone but ai data centers. we need to keep human activity in developed areas. losing our wild spaces will kill us.

tell that to the mojave desert tortoise whose habitat keeps decreasing every year because of development. I live in the desert and our environment and wildlife are not healthy. putting more solar farms in the desert is not a solution. encroaching on natural spaces is what is destroying us.
