Sure, people ultimately "control" their choices. Sometimes though, it is helpful to frame people's choices in the context of outside motivators. I am trying to say the motivation to boycott does not exist in the world we are creating.

People do not control who consumption benefits in the course of having to conduct all their living inside some nation. It is obviously not enough to ask life to just not do whatever seems to have improved survival for itself.
