teaching myself python for professional reasons (always used R) and thought the best way would be recreating my previous work and somehow I ended up accidentally making a version of SEAGER less biased by hitters’ intrinsic raw power? lmao

Experimenting with a batting average distribution estimate that shows who's running hot or cold but more importantly *how* hot or cold they're running vs what we'd expect based on their batted balls. Have they been worse than their 25th percentile outcome? Above their 75th percentile?

The last 3 pages are a PA/R/RBI calculator based on lineup position, role, and team OPS (obviously a fantasy tool) and correlation tables showing how my numbers track against other commonly-cited metrics both descriptively (current year) and predictively (next year).
February 2, 2024 at 4:30 PM
Following that are glossaries explaining what goes into each statistic. Hopefully these answer any questions you might have, if not just hmu.
February 2, 2024 at 4:29 PM
The 2 pages after that are the league averages in those metrics for each year, to give a point of reference for the other pages. You can navigate or sort to minor league averages here, as well.
February 2, 2024 at 4:29 PM
The next 2 pages are team hitting and team pitching tables that show how teams did collectively in the various metrics on the hitter & pitcher pages.
February 2, 2024 at 4:28 PM
The next page is full of pitch specs for individual pitches. You can look at pitch types across the whole league and compare within or put a pitcher’s entire arsenal under the microscope.
February 2, 2024 at 4:27 PM
The second page is for pitchers and has my version of a stuff model and some specs and estimates of traditional stats based off those pitch quality ratings. Again, it’s filterable, sortable, and you can pick pitchers for head-to-head comparisons.
February 2, 2024 at 4:27 PM
the first page listed is for hitters, which has 2021-2023 data for MLB, Triple A, Low A, and complex ball in the statcast system. If it was captured by hawkeye in that time, it’s in here. You can filter by team, position, pick specific players to compare them, etc.
February 2, 2024 at 4:24 PM
A quick walkthrough. The first thing you’ll see is a welcome page with a quick overview of the app and some contact info. You can navigate to the other pages via the dropdown menu under “options”.
