The cell type risk genes we identified were mostly disease specific indicating unique vascular and immune mechanisms across these pathologies. Lastly, we integrated gene expression analysis to prioritise repurposable drugs with genetic evidence for the treatment of AD.

Using nanoCUT&Tag epigenomic profiling and pcHiC chromatin conformation analysis we found AD genetic risk is mostly immune with some vascular enrichment, whereas small vessel disease, which is often comorbid with AD, is strongly enriched for blood vessel cell types.
