As a grey-ace individual, I absolutely love that authors are putting notes about the types of sexual content in their books (kinks, fetishes, etc), because it gives my brain time to figure out if I’m in a place to read that.

And the list I was just given for my next read has my eyebrows raised 👀

Also, if you see a charge on your card that you don’t recognize and it’s from a small business, please contact them before filing a chargeback.

Those chargebacks cost us so much in fees and there’s nothing we can do to fight them. Most the time, it’s people traveling forgetting where they were.

I’m so sick and tired of people being shocked that B&N, a giant corporation, doesn’t give a damn about their customers or authors. Like, why is this so surprising to folks? And why do they choose to continue to support them over indies.

I get that not every town has an indie, but like… come on

Not gonna lie, I tapped out at “gold card”

I’ve seen a couple people talking about upcoming Cruel is the Light by Sophie Clark but referencing the racist writing of Sophie LARK.

These are not the same author, please make sure you’re doing your research before posting things that can negatively impact someone.

I’m sorry, but do NOT, under any circumstances, let your freaking off-leash dog walk up and stick its nose through my fence at my dogs

The Devils is my first Joe Abercrombie book and are all of them this good??

I have laughed out loud no less than 20 times in 200 pages. The comedic timing is unmatched. #booksky

Sorry I’ve been MIA on here. I lost my dog of 14 years and I forgot how hard that loss hurts.

The same people who disparage YA fantasy will then tell me The Will of the Many is the greatest fantasy written in the last decade.

Oof a very large national brand headquartered in my hometown is hosting a “big queer market” today. A lot of queer artists are actually not participating because of the way this company has been called out for treating trans employees, but I’m here to say the tea is piping hot

My resolution was to waste less food and to cook instead of relying on convenience/prepackaged meals. Tonight I worked late, but came home and was able to make a sauce using just 3 ingredients in my fridge and some leftover chicken.

It was super simple, but I’m like really proud.

How do I still have 4 hours left in Will of the Many???

Our bookstore has to close due to the upstairs tenant’s apartment flooding (books+water=bad). If you’re able, we’d love for you to support us online to help minimize the damage this unexpected closure will have on our cash flow 🙏

Why in the world did I decide to try and read 4 600 page fantasy books all in a row? I have no idea what world I’m even in right now.

Fun fact, the only qualification for a book being young adult is that it was written for young adults as the target demographic. That’s it.

No one does the rivals-to-lovers crescendo like Olivie Blake. I swear to god, she never misses.

Reading a fantasy novel and my brain decided that “male birth control” was the thing that made the story too outlandish.

I hate it here.

Finished this morning and cried off my makeup. It’s timely. It’s political. It’s heartfelt and heartbreaking. Both a love letter to oldest sisters and Black women and a vicious rejection of the expectations the world puts on them to save us over themselves.

And this is a debut!!! #booksky
