I currently think it would more be the DOJ sat on it rather than the administration itself. DOJ is normally pretty independent, and Garland made a fair number of really poor decisions.

That said, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than just DOJ/Garland.

But I also get that I'm a weirdo, & my brain hangups are not everyone else's hangups, & also I started reading them in college, when free time was a much more available resource.

That said, the audiobooks/audio dramas are a lot of fun, too.

I hope you get to enjoy at least a bit of the Discworld.

Unlike everyone else, I suggest reading them in order, just because I got to see him grow as an author & also watch the development of the world. I would never be able to figure out where to start or how to read them if I didn't just go in order. The first books aren't amazing, but I've read worse.

I totally saw people suggesting this crap on Facebook in the 2010s, too. Though onions more often than potatoes, and there were also suggestions to put onions in the room with you to "soak the toxins" from the air, too.

Oh, this is an excellent picture! I couldn't hold still long enough to get a really good one, haha.

In addition to getting cool sights, spouse and I also heard at least 3-4 coyotes having a yipping and howling party. It was so creepy but also awesome.

Exactly!

I just hadn't even considered that there would be people who liked it and it broke my brain for a bit realizing that, wait, it totally makes sense!

Anyway, sorry for getting all thoughtful here. Just one of those "omg brains are so different and it's GOOD" moments for me. I'm really glad you're getting to enjoy this time of year! And if I could ship you my extra nighttime from being further north, I would do it!

(This reminds me of how I really struggle with comprehending how people can enjoy rainy days--my brain feel like it shuts off when there's not sunlight, but it makes me happy to know other people enjoy it! I don't get it, but I am very glad!)

You have broken my brain. I hate this time of year and cannot wait until there is more daylight. I feel like I have to go to sleep at like 7pm because it's been dark for too long.

That said, it legit makes me happy to know there are humans who actually do enjoy this. Makes it a bit better somehow.

OK, looks like that's from Wikipedia and a 2020 article (www.edweek.org/teaching-lea...).
Is This the End of 'Three Cueing'?
Lucy Calkins, author of a popular reading curriculum, is taking a step away from the method, which isn't based in science. Will others follow?

Wait, wait, where are you getting that information from? The linked article was written in 2019, and I don't see that quote anywhere in it.

And now the snow is all melted just by power of the sun and there are piles of salt at all the intersections. How lovely. The possible rain in a few days will get to wash it away, making it all a waste of money and time, in addition to all the environmental effects.

For getting the liquid up out of the carpet, fold a towel as thick as you can, put on wet, & stand on it. That pulls the moisture up & might prevent staining.

If there's still a stain, I recommend Spot Shot. It's stinky, but it has gotten out pretty much every stain I've encountered. Good luck! <3
