So, Alpine ear defenders for adults seem to only be available in black, however I have a relatively small head and figured I could fit something for 5-16 year olds (I don't think my head is bigger than it was when I was 16).

One awesome thing about the campus I'm on: 5 minute walk to feeling like I'm in the middle of nowhere. Although I can still hear distant cars, there are no human voices - just a choir of birds and branches and buzzing.
I thought I was coming here to scream or cry, but I've quickly calmed down.

These are the smallest, most comfortable, foam earplugs I've come across.
They still feel a little long for my ear canals - but I can typically wear them as long as I need them.
In the image below, I have a regular and smaller examples from elsewhere (don't know the brand, unlabeled mystery bag).

The main issue I have with these is comfort. Every time I've tried them I get an itch that reaches the intensity of burning in my ear canals.
I'm wondering if it is due to the moulding of the ear tip. It might be hard to see in the photo, but there's a very obvious ridge about a 1/3 of the way up.
