I went to the mall today. Yes, the mall is an overstimulating nightmare but sometimes Santa needs to panic buy last minute to make sure everything is even under the tree. That said, I always appreciated the mall Christmas bc it felt like festive frenzy with the decorations and kids seeing Santa.

I recently listened to a podcast called “(christmas past) and I chose the episode about Dean Martin 1968 Christmas special so I watched it on youtube. It was obviously cheesy and sexist (which was basically the commentary but in a respectful “times have changed way”) but I still kind of loved it.

I saw a comment on SM that I will paraphrase: “Providence can mail you an HD quality photo of your car running a red light but can only produce a grainy video of the shooter from behind” and this is honestly so true. Not that I, um, know from personal experience though.

Every year my friend and I go to NYC for the day at Xmas time. The first year we stumbled on a lite crime scene and a wedding at St Patrick’s (I can’t think of a worse place to get married even if you were super Catholic and that was your home Parrish) and we’ve been chasing that high ever since.

my son asked me to make cookies for band. I am leaving to go to nyc for the day and completely forgot but I did make dough at 5am bc guilt. I told him he had to make them and his last words as he went back to sleep were, “well is “sister* going with you?” She’s not a cheap bribe but good luck.

I just left Dollar Tree and was owed 37 cents change but they only gave me 35cents ”bc they aren’t making pennies anymore“ and I accepted it bc I’m not taking my annoyance out on a DT worker but wtf? Are they rounding up at 49c? I know it sounds petty but keeping a few pennies at stores across
