Yetu is an entirely wild elephant – born to ex-orphan Yatta in 2012. vYet she keeps coming to show us her babies. On 7th December, she did it again – this time with a brand new daughter. Her name is Yasmin. And just like that, Yatta is a grandmother twice over: www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.o...

A neonate orphan has lost its family, food source, and protection. Our Keepers fill that void – sleeping beside them, swaddling them, hand-picking their greens, scooping mud onto their skin. Offering round-the-clock care, for as long as it takes: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/n...

Thunder had a rough night. He can use lots of positive thoughts, prayers, and a great paw circle.
Surprise!
He did well overnight and walking with limited assistance. Ended up picking him up, as vets thought he’d be more comfortable at home. He was happy and bright when arrived.

Truly, I'm astonished that this cutie has been waiting for a family for so long. After spending most of her life in a shelter, it's time for her to finally get her own family. Almost 830 days in a shelter is heartbreaking. Let's have a Christmas miracle for Melia. Please keep sharing. 🙏
❤️ MELIA's in the car waiting for her special someone to drive her home. All she needs is a quiet patient adult only home. No dogs. She's playful, loves walks, only 3. Training is funded

Ex-orphan Suguta is a shining example of why we do what we do: this month, she proudly strode back home to reveal a new chapter in her story: motherhood! At her feet was a bright-eyed baby we have named Sullivan. Both mum and baby live wild, but together, we are keeping them safe and protected.

This boy makes up the core of my heart. What can I say about him? His name was Arlo and he changed to me. The Rescue didn’t think he would live three months.
I had him for three years and three months. I won.

Meet Nala – our newest Ithumba granddaughter who debuted on 22nd November!

Born to ex-orphan Nasalot and flanked by notorious rascal brothers Nusu and Noah, the Keepers described her as "very strong, healthy, and energetic." She'll need to be to keep up with those two.

Little Zigi turns eight months old this month. Surrounded by adoring nannies and watched over by Keepers, he's doing wonderfully – as is his mother, Zongoloni, who has embraced motherhood after her own traumatic start as a poaching orphan.

The moment Kaikai grew strong enough to walk great distances, our little sprite discovered her non-negotiable: daily mud baths. Weather forecasts mean nothing. Keeper schedules are merely suggestions. When Kaikai decides it's mud time, it's mud time! swt.bio/kaikai

#Throwback to milk inspector Korbessa urging Keeper Joseph along – those bottles won't make themselves! What began as a one-off extra serving of milk turned into a daily expectation. The boys in the herd don’t even bother asking – they know that bonus bottle belongs to her: swt.bio/korbessa

Because I’m so upset over the latest “peace deal” offered by my country to Ukraine, I marched up and down FEDD’s weekly visibility protest with the Ukrainian flag. Peace will not come from a business deal between Russia and the US.
