Brutal but effective public health messaging from New York Public Health.

The CDC is compromised. They’re no longer a reliable source of information.

They push anti-vaxx & anti-science grift.

Get your vaccines. Wear a respirator. Clean the air

Get public health advice from experts, not RFK Jr

‪Trump said during the campaign that he won’t need their votes after this election. At this point, he doesn’t care about his voters. Will the republicans become more afraid of their voters or Trump. Right now it is still Trump. Will that change? Not yet, if ever.‬

Spotted at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Halloween bash:

Giant ice sculpture with built-in luge. Pour booze in the top funnel and it chills and shoots out the bottom.

This monster? Likely $5K+ for one-time use.

The simple fact that the name of the bill is actually the One Big Beautiful Bill demonstrates that the Republican Party is not a serious party. End of story.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Murkowski’s vote. It contains, in one action, so much that defines our pathetic political moment:

Selfishness: I’m taking care of me and mine, the rest of you can pound sand;

Lack of accountability: I know the bill is bad, hopefully someone else will fix it;

I’m not seeing a lot of discussion of charges filed against Cuomo. You don’t have to be a fan of Cuomo. This seems to me like a test of charging/jailing candidates of the opposition party as seen in other autocratic countries. A test for 2026 or 2028? I would be very concerned.

Then vote against a shitty bill, let Republicans provide the votes for it, and then, if there aren’t enough votes from them, negotiate changes that make it less shitty. Voting for whatever tripe they throw up doesn’t make you “dignified”, it just makes you complicit.

I’ll never get over that all of this was avoidable and our kids could’ve had a better future had voters just made the obviously rational choice in November. It’s water under the bridge now. But what the fuck, people.
