Wound up with this experimental trio last night. B&W is always a bit hit or miss, but the texture these have really stood out.

Two today, why not. I think the bank tellers across the road were really confused by the goth meandering around taking pictures on a random Tuesday in the AM.

Fall is pretty, but I do sometimes miss the specific pop that comes in Spring & Summer. Whenever I pass this spot, I get excited for the next bloom.

Getting to the boss was a nightmare, and beating her? Not a chance on most runs. At least for kid brain.

Backroads of Oregon during our short vacation this year. At least, I think so.

Not super happy about how the top part of the bridge came out, but shifting it makes the rest f the image feel odd.

Problematic author aside, "Night" was one of the first books that changed me. It was a turning point that really shaped my understanding of empathy.

Close seconds to the first book I ever chose for me, "Gilead's Blood" & the first book I saw taking video games seriously, "Play Money."
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Monetizing my art has been creatively challenging & economically unviable for years.

That said, I think I’m going to shift gears.

If you’re interested in buying prints, seeing my writing as it evolves, & supporting an indie tabletop dev, keep an eye out. There’s things to come.

Thankfully you can build one at home in just a few easy steps. Basket is optional as far as I’m aware.
anyone have any good recs for a guillotine? do they come with their own basket usually?

Bernie Sanders: "What this Senate is about to do is make a horrific situation even worse. So let's be clear what this vote is about. If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are gonna see at least a doubling in their premiums in the ACA."

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

At some point, nonviolence ceases to work.

At some point, we have to start responding to these monsters in kind. Not because it’s the right choice but because every other option has failed.

People are disappearing & being maimed. Throwing a punch seems the bare minimum we can do.

Working on design aesthetics for some major factions in VR. It’s super fun to create visuals when the project has largely been writing thus far.

Wealth gaps are wild.

I talked to someone last night who makes, in one hour, what I make in a ~5 hour shift (IF I get calls and REALLY good tips).

Meanwhile, there’s people making, in a second, 1000x more than the above person makes in a year.

I miss the studio that helped me fall in love with world building. I’ll hope for the best because, but idk. Guess we’ll see what happens.

There's this little house on a bit of back road. Every time I see it I'm amused at how neither the inhabitants or drivers know a thing about each other as the pass by.

I wonder what it holds within

Perspective is a wild thing, kind of like empathy. Shattered glass and broken plastic can tell quite a story.

If you enjoy my photos or writings, let me know directly. A “like” is good, but oftentimes talking about the art, interacting with criticisms, etc, is part of the enjoyment.

Sometimes it feels like screaming into a void. That can get tiring, so maybe hit a bitch up with your thoughts and feels 💜

I've messed with this one a few times but couldn't really get a feel that I liked. This evening I tried something different. Sometimes, a simple edit is best.

In every job I’ve had I’d rather have spent ages teaching someone rather than putting up with miserable assholes. People willing and open to learn are always better to work with/manage than the alternatives.

The whole “bad apple” adage holds true, in my experience.
I truly can't stress this enough: No one's art is good enough to justify them being miserable to work with. Almost everyone I've worked with has been wonderful, but the handful of folks that weren't brought the whole team down by being egotistical, sexist, condescending, etc.

A go to for us is some kind of fish (salmon, tilapia, or swai), some rice, & a simple veg.

Each piece can be replaced easily, is relatively cheap, & fast

Fish w/ salt, pepper, other spices in oven @ ~350 for 12-15 min. Rice w/ w/e cooked to preference. Veg steamed in microwave. Easy & filling.
IT IS TIME FOR BLUESKY RECIPE POSTING

do you have a cheap, healthy, low-cost recipe? post it here! or quote tweet this post. or dunk on me for something I don't care just post easy meals that people can make right now.

I grew up on movies like Jason & the Argonauts, King Kong, etc, but I fell in love with Godzilla. I remember being enthralled by King Ghidorah, terrified of Mechagodzilla, & crying at the end of The Return of Godzilla. Even the newer stuff has some incredible spectacle to see.

Happy Godzilla Day!
