Seeing American democracy torn down, day after day.
Doing all I can to help keep it standing.

Power to the people.
Just to be clear I meant not good for electability. Which might be not correct given big Muslim population in NYC, but overall I think it’s negative (because, you know, racism).

The voters didn’t decide anything regardless to what you think. It’s obviously a fact.

Also by looking at some poll:
Jeffries had 72% support vs. Ossé’s 21%
I doubt Zohran had such great polling at that time of year.

I also would expect Jeffries popularity to go down just as life goes to shit more

As for joining DSA just for the endorsement - I think it’s very valid criticism. I don’t think it matters but I understand people who do. However I think the real reason endorsement didn’t happen was Zohran.

When was a last time you listened to our democratically elected people holding federal seats? Do you think they scream “I’m ready for it”?

While I like Zohran he doesn’t hold track record either. If anything Chi seems much more reasonable in his rhetoric.

Great chances might be exaggeration, but so is yours being extremely skeptical about his chances. I also will repeat again - with your approach to things we would have never had Zohran.
November 24, 2025 at 6:08 PM
That’s not exactly an answer.

It’s also an attitude with which Zohran would've never won, and that’s what makes it all feel bad. Zohran isn’t some kind of long time politician with a lot of experience, and Chi does represent something very similar to him.
November 23, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Sorry but no, Chi did much more and have much much better persona. He was around for last 4 years, and he’s exciting politician.
November 23, 2025 at 9:28 PM
I personally find Chi way better than Zohran, and Zohran is Muslim, which is not good too (which completely unfair but still a thing). I would agree though - it was longshot, I just don’t think it was that of long shot :)
November 23, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Now take a look on how many votes he got at his primaries (~20k!), and how many Chi got (also ~20k, with significantly smaller district). I get it wasn’t really competitive last time for Jeffreys but this whole thing isn’t as clear cut as people would like to think.
November 23, 2025 at 9:24 PM
It’s not like only individual gains something from the party but also party gains something from the individual, especially when it’s relatively minor party. Chi, just like Zohran, is exciting NYC politician, who has great chances to win over Hakeem. If only Zohran antiendorsement didn’t happen…
November 23, 2025 at 5:39 AM
It wasn’t as longshot as you think it was, all you need to see it clearly is to look how many votes Jeffries got last primary, and how many Chi, and then adjust by size of their districts. it’s not even close to be clear as you claim it to be.
November 23, 2025 at 5:01 AM
To be frank whole Chi persona is way cooler than DSA, it’s sad they decided no to back him.

Her principles however were questionable at best corrupt at most. Great politician who brought us much less than she was able to.
November 6, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Do you realize (1) is literally main promise of Zohran compaign and (2) the quite prevalent sentiment among Jews (I personally got served shit a ton of instagram reels with Jew New Yorkers talking about it). I get whole antisemitism thing (it’s bad and should be fought against) but this ain’t it

Consumption utopia isn’t really utopia. It’s a society where everyone has enough money to afford (basic) goods but that’s where their money finishes. I think (more than) half of US population already live like this.
August 15, 2025 at 7:04 PM
But that’s where the difference lays - the reality here is basic conditions are satisfied, just no more social mobility. That’s literally consumption utopia one of tweets are talking about. That’s what makes it really really scary.

How different is a requirement to show harm for unconstitutional law vs executive order?

The author of this account keeps saying ADP is bullshit though.

Look, I don’t think government should control women bodies period. And I believe Supreme Court was wrong reversing Roe v Wade.

However if we take this as a base, I think there is no difference between a pill and invasive procedure in the face of law =(

I hate right for abortions being taken from women, but I’m not sure court is in wrongs here. I’m not sure why federal government regulating drugs should be shielding abortion drugs from laws restricting abortions by the states.

Also practically this ruling is also exactly this.
