Seems kinda crucial to the point you’re trying to make. Los Angeles is a city the size of a county and you couldn’t classify all its residents as living in a city center. It’s very car centric.

Is this true or do a 3rd of Americans live in urban zoned areas? I mean a lot of cities that aren’t in the mid Atlantic can look really suburban (read: car focused) in spots, but do you count those people as living in the city center?
