I'm an Epidemiologist who worked on COVID response. My concrete suggestion is to follow the safety guidance of the WHO, rather than the CDC. CDC is under executive control & can be muzzled at the president's whim. Scientists around the world are monitoring possible pandemics & communicating to WHO.

Literally just disobey him. How much bad are people going to allow to happen before deciding to disobey and not enforce his orders?
NEW—Trump WH has blocked all CDC science reports (eg MMWR) & suspended all CDC / FDA / NIH external communications of all HHS agencies until further notice... including all FDA & CDC Health Alert warnings & all social media. Public health be damned.

I wish Democrats would take a similar approach when in power—go bold, push the agenda through executive action, and stop waiting for bipartisanship that never comes.
