They said it was colder than they would have liked! Apparently, some local people call them "the singing stones" presumably because the wind whistles and moans through them.

Years ago I had a group of ladies in my gallery. Seeing my painting of the Duddo Stones, they told me how they'd once all walked up there one evening , stripped off and danced in and around the stones! So there probably are songs sung there too....

It's always special, and there's seldom anyone else there. We've yet to do it in the snow- which I'd like to if the opportunity arises.
