Sun’s out, nets out ☀️

Good weather for is not just great for drying the washing, but for fishing nets too.

These are the nets we use to monitor fish in our rivers and wetlands, helping us understand how each species is tracking.

Have you included a farm map in your fire preparedness plan?

A well-defined farm map will help you in your fire planning; include in it:
• critical assets
• water sources
• stock refuge areas
• assembly/evacuation and exit points.

Out at Barapa Swamp with Barapa Barapa Traditional Owners and ARI.

Nets up, torches low, bats whispering past.

Microbats are a Barapa totem, so every catch and release matters.

We’re tracing their calls with new tech to better look after this wetland.

Five years of dedication has paid off.

Our recent survey at Reedy Lagoon captured 215 southern pygmy perch - mostly juveniles!

Thanks to environmental water, community-led breeding, and smart stocking strategies, this little fish is making a big comeback.
