A somewhat evolved ape curiously studying anthropology.
Thank you. Also, creating horrific trauma is hardly the intern experience companies strive to provide.

This one has long bothered me - tremendous food culture, Italy right next door, and yet... my theory is that at some point coffee became a functional thing, not a hedonistic experience. Maybe the tendency to have a shot with a cigarette or the period of "everything's cheap robusta"?

Worth pointing out that also, these days, more passengers share the same space (www.aerolopa.com/historic)

Any changes compared to a year ago?

Seriously, thanks to everyone involved with this project. Real, tangible progress.

IMHO the only silver lining here is that the next DOJ can hold all the current criminals accountable without having to worry about appearing political.
November 15, 2025 at 4:30 AM
The one positive about the DOJ being an instrument of blatant political persecution is that if we ever see a government of law and order again, they should have no problem producing some actual accountability instead of "moving forward together while avoiding the appearance of bipartisanship"

Finally some good news :)

It's a weird pattern I've seen in the US both in politics, in private and in the workspace: often the magnitude and severity of a response is measured by how much money is thrown at a problem, not by the outcomes. I have no idea where that comes from, but it's not as common elsewhere.

I get mad whenever I think about how much money was spent and on what, and how we as a nation avoided doing anything actually useful.
Especially galling if the new H3N2 is as bad as predicted.

Indeed. I can’t even convince our school to have a free CR box in the classroom. Meanwhile, we get one respiratory infection after another :(

Notwithstanding that the shutdown was entirely the responsibility of republicans, let's also see some accountability for the democratic senators who caved for an absolutely meaningless and disgraceful "compromise".

Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

Still missing Stadia.

Ich würde mir Wehrkunde- und Zivilschutzkurse als omnipräsentes Angebot wünschen.
Das Problem mit den Pflichtdiensten war ja schon letztes Mal, das viel Zeit unproduktiv verbracht wurde.
