Edited the font files of the #pcengine mini and added the missing characters to it. Still need to redo the katakana and hiragana, they are still a little off. And used the wrong coords for the "kai" kanji. @chriscovell.bsky.social thanks for spotting the problem :)

Been looking at ugly orange network cable for a while now. Finally decided to do something about it. Luckily I still had 1 empty tube going from the ceiling to the side of the room. Receiver and beamer in the ceiling cabinet. All possible connections coming out of the wall. #retrogaming #hometheater

Played around with the #analogue 3D and SummerCart64. Neighbour had some games already (and the summercart), I brought some of my games for him to borrow and finally tried Star Soldier Vanishing Earth which I got last year in Japan. Helped him set up library images on the 3D.

Got a #pcengine repro cd game from #aliexpress to see if it's any good so you don't need to. I chose Gate of Thunder because I got it recently and can compare the repro to the original. Keep an eye on this thread, if you want to find out. Will post comparison pics when I find the time. #hudsonsoft

I was having some sync problems on the Twin #famicom with Tim's NESRGB mod again... Last time it turned out to be a loose cancel pin in the SCART head (which I found after checking everything else!). So opened her up again I did. #retrogaming #retromodding

Bought these credit card size card holders to see if I can use them to replace sticky HuCard cases for #pcengine games. But they are a bit on the tight side. Still OK for those games you have with missing cases though. I got the frosted one, but they also have clear ones.

Working! No patience to wait for the microUSB OTG splitter cable so I just put the games on a micro SD and an USB SD card reader in the 2P front USB port. It works. I have added about 2/3 of all #pcengine HuCard #shmups now with cover art and JP title names as well. Let's play a bit :)

Just got word from family in HK. My #fromjapan package arrived. And yes, I finally gotten my hands on a #pcengine AMP-30 amplifier. JUNK though. I also got a #konami Picno so I can test the Picno card I got and I also got a Bee card adapter for shmuppy.

Spent 1.5hrs mucking around trying to get the #pcengine mini into FEL mode and stay connected so it can be hacked, to no avail. Probably a combination of connecting to a USB-C port, passthrough to a Windows VM that is running Win11. But even in Linux it doesn't stay connected. #hacking #miniconsole

Prepared (read: copied files from zip) SD card last night for my daughter's yellow Switch Lite. Will attempt to mod it tonight. Only modded a og Switch once before and ended up going to a friend for help (turned out soldering was ok, but ribbon cable connector pin got bent). #switch #picofly

G'AIME by Tassei Denki. Lightgun game peripheral/console that allows you to use a #lightgun on non-CRT TVs. So beamers too. Only downside is that it only comes with 4 games and it doesn't seem it will allow expansions. The guns use a camera and "AI". Real AI or just so they put it on the box? #namco

Tested all the #hudsonsoft #famicom carts I got on the trip, they all work. Yay for me. None were bought as JUNK though, so I was expecting them to work. I had to use some IPA on the contacts of about 5 of them before they worked. The beginning of my Hudson Famicom collection.

The #pcengine Core Grafx II I bought as JUNK from #hardoff seemed to work just fine, but after a bit the games would hang. Always at the same place. Tiger Road crashes, showing some garbled text about RAM. Namco's World Circuit crashes just after the title screen. Hopefully it just needs new caps.

While I had the #analogue DUO out, I thought I'd test the pachinko controller I got last year and Pachio-kun 3 which I got this time. Not working. Took it apart, measured the pot while turning it and all seems fine. Maybe the DUO doesn't support this controller? #pcengine #pachinko

Dusted off the Analogue Duo to test some of the games I got from the Japan trip. Updated the firmware to 1.5 (it was still on 1.1). Stopped using it when it kept crashing CD games a long time ago, hopefully that is fixed now. Finally got the library images working too. #pcengine #analogue

We had a great last night, enjoyed a yatai dinner, packed our stuff and then went out for drinks and karaoke until it was time to go. No sleep for the wicked! Or just sleep on the plane... Thanks for following the gamehunting posts and sorry for the gamehunting spam :)
