I moved to New York in 1984 and didn’t *officially* (😂) receive my ‘Gay Card’ until I had attended a double feature of “The Women” (1939) and “All About Eve” at Theatre 80 St. Marks (near the corner of St. Marks Place and First Avenue).
Seriously, this was a rite of passage in Manhattan in the 80s.
