winter sun, with teeth;
bitter december morning
bristling icicles
a bright clear day
and still the frost persists
glistening cold

Another one of those very revolutionary thoughts while I wait for coffee to be ready: you can be critical of something and still love it. You can be critical of something and not vomit hate on the people who made it. It is possible to learn this power.

Good take, not so hot, I would say lukewarm
Hot take that shouldn't be hot: men are socialized from early childhood to rely on identification to enjoy a story. If they can't identify with the main character they feel distance and sometimes hostility, and if the story doesn't "talk about them" they have trouble finding interest in it. (1/3)

I'll also say, I feel the popularity of open world games and RPGs is at least partly due to being able to get 100+ hours of enjoyment out of a single purchase.

For people who can't spend much on games, being a time sink is a feature, not a bug.
