Hiatus to avoid Metroid Prime 4 spoilers! I enjoy exploring alien planets in #Metroid, delving into dungeons in The Legend of #Zelda, and unlocking support conversations in #FireEmblem. Beyond that, I love chatting about anime, movies, and video games.
It’s extremely disappointing that Nintendo and The Pokémon Company plan to release a game from such a successful franchise as a game-key card. This trend of prioritizing profit margins over consumer interests isn’t a good look. I guess all we can do is vote with our wallets.

I’ve been dying to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair ever since the cut was announced in 2008. Sadly, every article I’ve found only mentions US screenings. I really hope the film will also be shown elsewhere, especially as Tarantino seems opposed to a home video release.

I can’t believe we’re now officially less than a month away from the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It feels almost surreal that I’ll finally get to play the game I’ve been anticipating with bated breath since its announcement at E3 2017.

I understand there are players who have issues with Mario Kart World, especially among those who primarily play online, but I’m still having a blast with the game. Even after dozens of hours in Free Roam, I keep finding new P Switch missions that put a smile on my face.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer was my first foray into the world of Yorgos Lanthimos. While a bit too long, the film made me feel both unsettled and entranced. I also thoroughly enjoyed Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. The third act, in particular, is a treat for animation fans.

My biggest hope for today’s LRG3 showcase was that @limitedrungames.com would announce proper physical releases of Nintendo Switch 2 titles that originally came out only as game-key cards. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. Maybe it’s still a bit too early.

Maybe it’s the recent rerelease of the two Super Mario Galaxy games and the discussion about Mario’s 3D adventures that it sparked, but I felt a strong urge to revisit Super Mario 64. To my surprise, I got completely absorbed and ended up collecting all 120 stars. What a classic.

I’d love to be proven wrong, but my guess is that instead of giving it the full Metroid Prime Remastered treatment, Nintendo will just rerelease the GameCube version of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes now that the console is part of the Nintendo Classics lineup.

Terranigma means a great deal to me. It’s one of the games that defined the SNES era for me and played a big part in shaping my taste as a player. I truly hope it’ll get a rerelease in some form so that a new generation can join Ark on his globe-trotting adventure.

Personally, I believe remakes don’t replace the originals. Metroid on NES and Metroid: Zero Mission on Game Boy Advance are vastly different, each with its own design philosophy. Some older games may feel dated, but they still deserve to be preserved, even after being remade.

Of the ones listed by Letterboxd, I’d pick Evil Dead. Overall, though, it has to be the Alien series, which blends horror with my favorite genre, science fiction. A close second would be the 28 Days Later movies. I can’t wait to see 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple next January!

With Mario & Wario’s arrival on Nintendo Switch 2, I finally have a reason to check out the system’s mouse-control functionality. So far, I’ve only ever used the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to play games.

Apparently, Heat 2 is going to be based on the novel of the same name, which came out in 2022 and serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the original story. I really hope it will add something meaningful to the legacy of the 1995 classic and won’t just be a nostalgic cash grab.

While I adore the original NES version of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, I acknowledge that many find it too frustrating. Thankfully, a fan made a ROM hack that rebalances the game, adds quality-of-life improvements, and features a new translation! romhacking.net/hacks/5440/

Whenever I’m out on the water in Mario Kart World, I’m reminded how much I miss the Wave Race series. I’m sure Wave Race: Blue Storm will eventually join the Nintendo Classics lineup. What I really want, though, is a new game that makes full use of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

One Battle After Another kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and is a strong contender for my favorite film of the year, while Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, carried by Newman and Redford’s stellar performances, may be one of the best buddy movies ever made.
