I’m going to put my rich guy hat on and say I hope that Mexico and Canada issue equal, retaliatory tariffs and stick to them for an extended period.

The big problem is that there's no constitutional off-ramp here. The only path is some form of extraordinary removal on the basis of 14th Amendment disqualification.
He is on course to alienate:
- almost all of Wall Street
- every civilian federal employee
- the leadership of the armed forces
- the main federal security apparatus, which he is also reducing by half
- the leadership of every major religion in the country
- every single ally we have

Compared with any other major country, the United States has been extremely fortunate in its two immediate neighbors, Canada and Mexico.
Now, incredibly, it is declaring economic war on both of them. This is a war no one can win, and from which tens of millions will lose.
