The current limit of 10 Deep Research requests per month means that for each Saturday/Sunday in a month, you can obtain a well-summarized report on any domain you want. This is an amazing opportunity to acquire extreme breadth across areas. #KnowledgeIsPower

underappreciated torch-related package: @davidbau.bsky.social‘s baukit. Logging extra statistics about the validation set’s ITEs during training has been immensely helpful in thinking through model design. Finally moved it in to our default tooling over the winter holiday

It turns out that converting a backyard into a garden requires a ton of planning. It’s not just picking out pretty shrubs. It’s calculating flow rates on water lines and tracking shade over the year and stuff

I called an online store today because their order processing page was broken. They asked if I was using a phone or an iPad. Those were my choices. The person sounded surprised when I said “desktop web browser” like I was an old fogey or something

My parents used to buy gifts on behalf of my grandparents and say they were from them, but I don’t think I realized that was what was going on until “grandma” gifted me a Bluetooth mouse. In 2005.

There are just no sufficient words for what happened at the mall in Texas. There are no words for when people are massacred violently and senselessly like this.

Then everyone who survives & everyone who loves them has to read about this every day.

Take. The. Guns. Away.

Has anyone ever met an applied statistician who specifically labeled their work as frequentist? As far as I can tell, this only happens with people doing Bayesian work. I used Bayesian tools for the first time in a while today and wonder if there’s some secret club I can apply to get in to now.
