I grew up in South A Africa (which mines diamonds) and lived in Europe. Both places prize smaller gems with better clarity. The US values size only.

If I have had to pay to make by vehicle accessible for more people, surely I am justified in charging more? I worry that "caring" legislation, be it employment, accessibility etc. is secretly driving up costs.

There are people who identify most strongly as citizens of the world. There are people who live in NYLON (New York/London) and there are people whose strongest identity is an online social community. We are not one thing.

Be aware of your neighbours' security as well:
If your security is just a little better than your neighbour's, their house becomes the target.
Shared walls are often a weak point. Your big front wall is wasted if a thief can hop over the neighbour's little fence and then hop into your property.

To be fair, there is very little commentary about how wonderful worklife is for any gender - and lots telling you it's toxic.

How prevalent is corruption if $75,000 is an acceptable number? In a risk-benefit analysis, they must think the risk of consequences is pretty low. I am doing NOTHING until I have enough to live out my life in a non-extradition country when the whole thing implodes.

I used to see articles outlining how the advent of AI in business would promote the need for more soft skills. I don't seem to see these articles or demand for these skills these days.

There are many ways to build an AI, but American vendors have chosen the one which requires the most physical resources. AI is a thirsty beast, but it didn't have to be this bad.
