Misleading headlines
I live in a small country, but I follow a lot of international news. Headline writers: PLEASE include the country you are referring to if you are not referring to something global. Just say "US Inflation/UK Inflation". You can make billions of people happier.

If I was arrested by ICE or in a protest, I would immediately lie down. I wouldn't fight the officers, but I'm certainly not cooperating with them either. Why don't more people do this? (I'm assuming there is a good reason).

The EU AI Act kicked in on 1 August. It places extra responsibilities on employers who use AI in relation to staff and job applicants. Has anyone seen any changes at their work as a result? I haven't hear a peep.

When it comes to the United States, the enemy is not at the gate, it was welcomed with a red carpet, elevated to the highest positions of power, and now dictates policy from within. When the people you elected no longer represent you or the highest courts fail to protect you, who do they work for?

Before invading Ukraine, Russia attempted to gain influence by buying off its politicians and infiltrating the government. Only after the Ukrainian people reclaimed their democracy and proved too resilient to corrupt did the Kremlin resort to launching its invasion and war of aggression.

Cheap Asian imports helped low-wage Americans keep their heads above water. Trump has shattered that arrangement. Pressure on increasing minimum wages is going to ratchet up by several notches. It's going to get ugly!

With Europe increasing defence spending, they obviously don't have the deep pockets of the US to buy planes, ships and tanks. I hope they have learned from Ukraine and they decide to make big investments in the clever, asymetric, low-cost things like drones.
