Why would a mono-green deck want to run Rhys, or a colorless deck run Ulalek, in the 99 rather than have them in the command zone? If it's just for a flavor win, congratulations, you're wanting to make a bracket 1 deck where questionable legality is part of the definition.

I feel like this example of Rhys perfectly summarizes why hybrid mana rules shouldn't be changed. If Rhys can head a GW deck, then it's very clearly not either/or, it's fundamentally both, and any other argument just kind of becomes "I want to ignore the inconvenience".

Seriously, how hard would it have been to put the text in a comic style speech/thought/exposition bubble/box? Could easily be placed on the card in a way that doesn't disrupt the art but is still legible and on theme. Was a little yellow box in the corner just too much to ask of the typesetter?

Based on my own Land-imator (Anima-land?) deck, which is admittedly enchantment instead of artifact based, I've enjoyed the Awaken mechanic, then you've got land protection, land copying, and Dryad fixes the mana tapping restriction. A lot of +1/+1 counter subtheme cards as well.
