NEW Hidden Legacy by Ilona Andrews! loom.ly/IU5BTZo. Bound by their mission, Nevada and Connor clash over their tactics and moral beliefs, even as things undeniably heat up between them. But the man they’re chasing is involved in a darker conspiracy that threatens to destroy the city. #hiddenlegacy

Federal funding directly supports your local stations and provides you with essential programs and services. As calls to end this funding grow louder, please stay informed through our partners at Protect My Public Media.

In Washington it's Apple Health, in Oregon it's Oregon Health Plan or OHP. Share your Medicaid program's name and CONTACT your senators and representatives. You know someone who relies on Medicaid for medication, for mobility, for services that grant dignity and basic care. #ProtectMedicaid
It’s called Medi-Cal in California. I’ll bet a lot of folks don’t know it’s funded by Medicaid.
Many folks are on Medicaid but don’t know it because their state calls it something else. Hoosiercare in IN. Peach care in GA. Badgercare in WI.

They don’t realize their medical care is on the chopping block. What does your state call it? Let’s get replies going and the word out!

Same! The flu visited our family in a wave that lasted nearly a month from first infection to last. It landed in varying degrees but nothing as bad as I've heard from unvaccinated friends and colleagues. It's never too late to get vaccinated!
let me strongly recommend the flu shot to whoever hasn't gotten one for this season. i just had a *terrible* bout with the flu that almost certainly would have been WAY worse had i not been vaccinated

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.
The average person with the flu gives it to around 1.4 people. The average person with measles gives it to between 12 and 18 people.

Measles cases continue to surge globally, putting millions of children at risk.

More than 10 million people globally were infected with measles in 2023, a 20% increase from the previous year.

Pretty damn good framing for Dems
How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million.

How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65

Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

The author of this article and I share similar views of The Stand. I agree, although it's not King's best story, it is one of the most important.

I had to pick it up again. Rereading Stephen King: week six – The Stand www.theguardian.com/books/2012/a...

Hail, Inanna, Queen of Transformation!
Morning Star that rises anew,
Breaker of chains, Turner of tides,
You who shape the world with fire and storm,
You who walk the path of change unafraid.
Today, I call upon your power—
Let the old be torn down,
Let the new be forged in light.

Fascinating! To all the people out there with the need to **scratch** the itch, here's a good read.
Does scratching exacerbate disease or benefit the host? In a recent study, Liu at al found that it does both, suggesting scratching is a pathological process and an evolutionary adaptation. https://buff.ly/4hDAgF2 🧪
