The two men most to blame for the fall of American democracy are John Roberts and Mitch McConnell. The worst Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the worst Senate leader in the history of the US. See, Citizens United and acquitting Trump of impeachable offenses.
As SCOTUS hears another case today that could further destroy campaign finance regulation, consider this astonishing fact: political spending by billionaires has increased 160-fold since Citizens United decision www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
This is all John Roberts’ fault
Trump owes his corrupt and abusive reign to one man.

This is what we need in VA 01 and all across the country! Can you imagine what it would be like if we had representatives who really represent our community and didn’t just pretend like Rob Wittman does?
VA Dems need to embrace a robust primary among all the Dem candidates to oppose Wittman.
Today’s disAbility Visibility panel. I can’t thank you enough.

There are many challenges we discussed today — changing policy and perspectives was among them. That’s won’t be easy, but - like so many of our obstacles - it’s possible to overcome.

And we will. I promise to fight with you to do so.

Opportunity to learn more from @votetimva.com, Dem candidate running to replace worthless Rob Wittman in #VA01. Topic even more relevant given the language used by the sitting president yesterday. Support Dem candidates that will fight for everyone, especially those with disabilities/special needs.

I was recently on a panel on the harms of reckless data center growth (I was there for my job in environmental justice, not as a candidate).

No amount of 💰 from Big Tech is worth hurting communities. It’s why I've fought them so hard in Va, and why I will fight for accountability in Congress.

Could not agree more with this take.

People lose trust in Government because politicians get to play by rules that are inherently untrustworthy — it’s also how you get growing inequality and authoritarianism.

If only we had a candidate running on reform as the pathway policy solutions 🤔 🙋‍♂️
In this article, Adam Bonica describes how the Democratic Party could rally around an anti-corruption platform. Some polls reveal concerns about corruption rank higher than affordability. Party should make “conscious decisions” to come clean & reinvent itself. 🧵

Tim Cywinski has experience no other candidate has in helping communities resist construction of data centers around Virginia.
Big Tech’s data centers are draining our water, polluting our air, and driving up electric bills — all without any accountability or transparency.

I’ve fought back with communities in Va (and won). I’ll do it again in Congress.

It’s time for leaders who prioritize people over Big Tech profits.

Here is the face of reform within the Democratic Party. He won’t cave. “There’s nothing patriotic about tax breaks for billionaires while working families cannot afford basic care.”
Republicans like Wittman love to pretend they love our country, but there’s nothing patriotic about tax breaks for billionaires while families can’t afford basic care.

Real patriotism is believing America can do better — that we can take care of every person in this country with dignity & fairness.

We CAN fund healthcare, AND SNAP, AND pay our federal workers at the same time.

This is rocket science, it basic fairness.

It’s beyond frustrating to see our politicians forget that. But a system that caters to greed will never let decency and dignity prevail.

It’s up to us to change that.

Authenticity. Decency.
A New Way Forward!
Trump & Rob Wittman uphold a system built on corporate greed & political games.

But Virginia just proved that decency still matters, democracy still works, and people are ready for a new way forward.

I’m fighting for a system that works for all of us.

This!!!
An election is more than a contest — it’s a declaration of equality.

Your vote counts just as much as anyone else’s. That’s real power.

It’s also why some will do anything to silence it.

So why vote? Because there’s beauty in a ballot. Cast one if you can.

I'm proud that my tax dollars help feed families, and I'm not going to waste my time defending why.

Caring for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities shouldn't be controversial. Feeding families is patriotic.

MAGA's bullsh*t about SNAP being a "wasteful" program needs to be called out for the gaslighting it is.

Most SNAP recipients are kids, seniors, and ppl with disabilities —groups we have a moral obligation to care for.

If you think feeding families is a waste, you shouldn't be in public service.

When people in power fail to listen to their constituents, it's up to us to hold them accountable.

Wittman has forgotten how to listen, and he’s not the only one.

We need to reform the rules, so we can restore representation for the rest of us — that's how we revitalize the American Dream.

In the richest nation on Earth, no one should go hungry. No one should go broke from getting medicine.

We can afford SNAP. We can afford healthcare.

But Trump and Wittman would rather shut down the government to protect billionaire tax breaks.

It’s cruel. It’s cowardly. And it pisses me off.

Let’s be clear: this shutdown isn’t about fiscal responsibility or “waste, fraud, and abuse.” It’s about priorities. And once again, Republicans are showing us theirs — they’d rather shut down the government than stop healthcare costs from exploding.
