Bad enough that they’ve wrongfully attributed that Mary Shelley was inspired by a man to write ‘Frankenstein,’ but just to add insult to injury this article was written by a woman for Cosmopolitan magazine. It ‘exists’ because Shelley bloody wrote it.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

The adorable Pauline Collins has left us. An incredible actress on both the big and small screen during her long career. Met her beloved husband John Alderton while making Upstairs, Downstairs. Best known for playing Shirley Valentine in the adaptation of Willy Russell’s play. RIP & thank you!

Actor Eddie Marsan makes brilliant points in relation to ‘posh’ actors being promoted over actors from working-class and more diverse backgrounds. Likewise, it doesn’t help when w/c & diverse screenwriters aren’t having their ‘voices’ heard on screen. news.sky.com/story/posh-b...

The dying embers of a fiery autumnal sky put on quite a spectacle before darkness came.

Heads up #AgathaChristie fans! BBC2 is right now repeating Agatha Christie: @lucyworsley.bsky.social on the Mystery Queen. It’s superb. In this three part documentary you’ll learn how about how her own complex and intriguing background were inspiration for her many novels. Available on BBCiPlayer.

Autumn is now well and truly upon us and it’s only going to get colder from here on. We’ve moved onto hog the pouffe next to the radiator. Radiator bed in kitchen takeover will commence shortly. Already started coming for snuggles under the duvet during the night. Has his trusty hot water bottle.

Next time someone in the industry says nobody’s interested in stories about mature strong women stick them in front of #RiotWomen. It’s struck a chord with the public because it’s so relatable. Hey, half the population are female and the menopause will come to all of them. Sally Wainwright aces it.

Sharing this again. Clearly with arts and humanities under sustained attack from politicians we need to keep reminding ourselves not only why we do this but why we keep fighting to do it. #ScriptSkyUK #ScriptSky #WritingCommunity

Arguably, this is how @news.sky.com are more accurately reporting this story on their own website. Truss, Sunak and Johnson have been an absolute disaster for people’s disposable incomes.

Last night was a sleepless one. Extremely painful. A tough one. This precious boy stayed right next to me through most of it, giving me loads of unconditional love, affection, kisses, snuggles and gentle purring endlessly. So lucky to have him as my companion and editor-in-chief. #cats

For those at the back of the room, or in this case the Oval Office; #autism is something you’re born with. There is zero proof that taking painkillers, having a vaccine or any other prescribed meds during pregnancy makes you autistic. Saying otherwise is both hurtful, ignorant and disrespectful.

While we’re mourning the loss of Robert Redford, cannot help but think about fact he played Bob Woodward in ‘All the President’s Men,’ alongside Dustin Hoffman as Carl Bernstein. Two journalists + a newspaper who dared to hold power to account despite the potential risks. How times have changed. 😢

A legend has left us. Where do you even begin to cover Robert Redford’s achievements?

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, The Sting, All the President’s Men, Three Days of the Condor, Sneakers or Brubaker (both underrated). A River Runs Through It. So many.

Thank you, Sir, for everything.

It’s Brian De Palma’s 85th birthday. Gives me the perfect excuse to celebrate his big day by live posting ‘The Untouchables,’ one of my all time favourite movies. Happy to waffle along to myself if nobody fancies joining in. Kicks off 8pm (BST) #TheUntouchables #FilmSky #ScriptSkyUK #ScriptSky

Isn’t a coincidence that arts and humanities have seen drastic cuts in funding, why schools, FE and HE have in recent years been struggling to offer the broadest curriculum. Look at how many libraries have closed. Reading/education opens doors, gives you the freedom to think for yourself.

I write scripts for TV, film and theatre. Also waffle on here about screenwriting, film and TV. Kind of created the #ScriptSkyUK hashtag that UK screenwriting folk use. Have my editor-in-chief alongside me for the ride. 👇
